Role Overview
The Aircraft Mechanic will report to the Chief Engineer and will work within a team responsible for the baseline maintenance of Diamond Aircraft.
Role Duties
To assist the Licenced Engineer in carrying out inspection, maintenance and repair tasks on the Leading Edge Aviation’s fleet of Fixed Wing Aircraft – Diamond DA40s and DA42s.
To complete all maintenance within given timescales, to ensure the provision of serviceable aircraft to meet the operational need.
To follow company procedures and processes, particularly relating to operational requirements, quality and safety.
To ensure that all work done, is in compliance with the requirements of the regulations and procedures.
To comply fully with all company health and safety policies and procedure, adhering to COSHH.
To record and detail all work carried out accurately and timely.
To schedule inspections, defect rectification, repairs and modifications when instructed.
To clean all LEAL aircraft, external and internal.
To undertake basic serviceability and maintenance checks.
To check and report on all expiry dates of safety equipment.
To prepare the aircraft for flight through;
-Replenishing fluids (Oil, TKS, etc).
-Checking tyre pressures.
-Cleaning windscreens.
To manage the storage areas for fluids and associated equipment, reporting on disposables stock levels.
To escort personnel Airside at the request of the Chief Engineer
To move consumables to secondary location at the request of the Chief Engineer.
Any other duties reasonably associated with this role.
Core Competencies
Experience working with General Aviation Fixed Wind Maintenance.
Good IT skills, proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written.
Excellent attention to detail with the ability to follow processes and procedures.
Willingness and ability to study and gain further knowledge and experience in aircraft maintenance.
Highly motivated with a strong work ethic.
A positive outlook, good customer service, with a friendly and approachable manner.
