Role Overview

The Sales Manager at Leading Edge Aviation is responsible for achieving sales targets through establishing the needs of the customer and enrolling prospective students onto the most suitable course for them.

The Sales Manager will work alongside the Head of Marketing to ensure all potential sales opportunities are exploited, reaching the required volumes of eligible potential leads.

Role Duties

Lead Generation
  • To attend the key flyer shows, open days and events throughout the year in order to generate interest in Leading Edge Aviation as a training provider of choice.
  • To present at internal and external events where appropriate.
  • To gather leads, capturing relevant information about potential customers in line with General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR).

  • Sales Process
  • To manage the entire sales cycle, ensuring that each potential customer is given a first class, seamless experience ensuing that customer satisfaction is maximised.
  • To assess all leads, managing them through the sales process with follow up calls, emails and face to face meetings where appropriate.
  • To maintain accurate records of cadets and potential cadets throughout the sales process in line with GDPR.

  • Increase Business Opportunities
  • Assess the effectiveness of attendance at events through the gathering feedback and assessing the footfall and conversion rates of potential customers.
  • Investigate the potential of other, currently untapped, sales event opportunities.
  • Provide the Board with sales information following each event, making recommendations regarding attendance at future events.

  • Sales Team Management
  • Be responsible for recruiting and training a sales team with the Leading Edge Aviation values.
  • Set and monitor challenging but realistic sales targets for the team; rewarding positive contributions and managing under-performance.
  • Develop and coach the sales team to ensure an optimum skillset, ensuring the highest professional standard is achieved and monthly sales target and KPI target are achieved.

  • Core competencies
  • A confident and effective people manager.
  • Familiarity with the Commercial Aviation Training environment.
  • Proven experience in building relationships on the phone, online and in person.
  • Proven ability in a target driven sales environment, selling high-end products and services.
  • Exceptional organisation skills.
  • Excellent administrative skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
