At Leading Edge Aviation, we celebrate the resilience and determination of our student pilots. One such inspiring story is that of Shanal, an Integrated ATPL student whose unwavering commitment to his aviation dreams exemplifies the spirit of perseverance.
Shanal has always had the passion to fly, which he inherited from his father who unfortunately couldn’t pursue aviation in his home country, Sri Lanka, due to a lack of facilities. Shanal expressed that it is now his dream to continue his father’s aspirations in getting to the flight deck. He chose an integrated course at another ATO (Authorised Training Organisation) as he thought it would be best suited to him. However, an unforeseen interruption at his previous training organisation abruptly halted, as he received communications that his training would be cancelled just a few weeks before it was supposed to begin. Such unexpected challenges can be disheartening, but for Shanal, it became a catalyst for growth.
Embracing New Opportunities
Determined to continue his pursuit of the skies, Shanal sought a new path forward. He took a step back to reflect on the best approach to staying on track to becoming a pilot and began his searh for a new Flight Training academy. After doing some research, he found Leading Edge Aviation.
Since beginning our LEAP integrated programme, he’s been immersed in a supportive environment and a comprehensive training programme that aligned with his goals. Transitioning into our ground school, Shanal has quickly adapted, immersing himself in the curriculum and has found a home amongst our community of fellow aspiring pilots.
Now well into his training at Leading Edge, Shanal reflects on his journey with optimism and is looking forward to finishing ground school so he can jet off to our Alhama campus and begin flying.
