Leading Edge Aviation based at Oxford Airport and VA Airline Training (VA) based at Cambridge Airport join forces with a new airline pilot training partnership as well as simultaneously launching the first ever approved Airline Pilot Standards MCC course designed for the Airbus A320. Both VA and Leading Edge are EASA Approved Training Organisations (ATO) for ab initio airline pilot training with Leading Edge focusing upon CPL/IR single pilot licence training and VA focusing upon multi-pilot MCC and type rating training courses. Graduates from Leading Edge Integrated and Modular courses will progress seamlessly into training with VA each month to complete their APS MCC training course (either A320 or B737) and then onwards into aircraft type training and airline employment. This new partnership also comes at a time of creating significant ‘firsts’ in the UK: VA launched the first approved APS MCC course in the UK in April 2018 for the B737NG APS training now celebrates its first 1-year of enhanced MCC training with 145 graduates from VA alone To complement being the first on the B737NG type, VA now celebrates another pioneering milestone being the first ever ATO to deliver APS training on the A320 type The very first Leading Edge CPL/IR graduates since the company launched operations earlier in the year will be the inaugural A320 APS MCC trainees at VA
“Sharing the same cores values to deliver highly competent pilots to airlines with exceptional customer service meant that it was a natural fit for VA and Leading Edge to want to work in partnership. We are delighted to be sharing these significant industry milestones with our new partner Leading Edge and their inaugural graduates” Anthony Petteford – Executive partner with VA Airline Training.
“It was the logical decision to partner with VA as the industry leader in the provision of APS MCC. Their attention to detail and customer centric approach to training delivery fits exactly with our ethos. We are thrilled to be working closely together to reach major milestones for both companies and the industry.” Andy McFarlane – CEO of Leading Edge Aviation
