Leading Edge Aviation Unveils fATPL and Flight Instructor Training Programme with Up to 82%* Funding for 16 Candidates

Turn Ambition into Achievement: Leading Edge Aviation Introduces Its Most Comprehensive fATPL & Flight Instructor Programme — Now Offering Up to 82% Funding for 16 Future Pilots

Leading Edge Aviation is pleased to announce the launch of its third funded* fATPL and Flight Instructor Training Programme, now open to applicants from across the United Kingdom and all member states of the European Union. This significant initiative will support 16 highly motivated individuals with up to 82% funding toward a dual UK CAA and EASA fATPL licence, culminating in a guaranteed three‑year Flight Instructor role upon completion.

This programme represents more than a training opportunity. It is a meaningful step towards widening access to the aviation profession for those with the talent and determination to succeed.

Two Pathways, One Professional Destination

To ensure accessibility for candidates at different stages of their aviation journey, Leading Edge Aviation offers two dedicated routes:

  • Integrated fATPL Training (Little or No Experience) Candidate contribution: £30,000 — an 80% reduction in total training fees.
  • Modular fATPL Training (For PPL Holders) Candidate contribution: £25,000 — an 82% reduction in total programme costs.

All successful applicants will complete their Flight Instructor Rating as part of the programme and transition directly into paid employment at Leading Edge Aviation’s modern training campus in Alhama de Murcia, Spain.

Reducing Financial Barriers, Expanding Opportunity

The cost of pilot training remains one of the most significant challenges for aspiring aviators. This initiative aims to address that challenge directly, offering a transformative opportunity to 16 individuals who may otherwise have been unable to pursue a career in aviation.

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Be aged 17 or over at time of application
  • Hold a Class 1 Medical (UK CAA & EASA Denmark‑assigned) and pass a DBS/GSAT check
  • Demonstrate English proficiency at ICAO Level 4 or higher (if applicable)
  • Hold a PPL (for Modular applicants only)

Supporting Industry Demand with Highly Skilled Graduates

As global aviation continues to experience strong demand for new pilots, airlines across Europe face increasing recruitment pressures. Leading Edge Aviation is committed to supporting the sector by training pilots who are not only technically proficient but also well‑prepared for the professional and personal demands of the role.

Andy McFarlane, CEO and Founder of Leading Edge Aviation, commented:

“Financial barriers too often prevent talented individuals from entering the aviation industry. With this programme, we aim to make the pathway more accessible and sustainable. We are proud to invest in the next generation of pilots and instructors who will contribute to the future strength and resilience of the sector.”

Applications Now Open

Applications open Friday 13 February and close Saturday 28 February. Assessments will take place throughout March, April, and May, with successful candidates notified by Monday 1 June 2026.

* 82% Saving based on total Modular Programme, Pilot & Flight Instructor Training and accommodation costs of £140,840 with a £25,000 applicant funding contribution. Integrated Programme saving is 80% with a £30,000 applicant funding contribution.
